Morning Prayer to Put God First in Everything You Do

Heavenly Father,

I come before You this morning with a heart that bows in awe before Your majesty. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the One who reigns over all creation with perfect wisdom, perfect love, and perfect holiness. There is no shadow of change in You, no weakness in Your power, and no limit to Your mercy. Every sunrise declares Your faithfulness, every breath I take is a gift from Your hand, and every heartbeat is another reminder that You alone are the Giver of life. You are worthy of every song, every word of praise, and every moment of my life. My soul delights in You, for You are my Creator, my Redeemer, my Shepherd, and my everlasting King. There is no greater joy than belonging to You, and there is no greater purpose than living for Your glory.

Father, as this new day begins, I lay my heart before You and ask You to help me put You first in everything I do. Before I make a decision, let me seek Your wisdom. Before I speak a word, let me remember that my words should honor You. Before I take another step, remind me that I am following the One who has already gone before me. I do not want You to simply be part of my day—I want You to be the center of it. Let every plan begin with You, every thought be surrendered to You, and every desire be shaped by Your will.

Teach me what it truly means to love You with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength. Too often I become distracted by the noise of this world. My attention is pulled in countless directions, and I find myself giving my best energy to things that will not last. Today, I choose differently. I choose to place You above my schedule, above my ambitions, above my fears, and above my own understanding. Help me remember that when You are first, everything else finds its proper place.

Lord, let my relationship with You become more than a routine. I do not want to simply check a box by praying or reading Scripture. I want to know You more deeply. I want my heart to hunger for Your presence more than it hungers for comfort or success. Draw me close until Your voice becomes more familiar than every other voice competing for my attention. Let my greatest desire be to walk with You, to listen to You, and to reflect Your character in everything I do.

When life is peaceful and everything seems to be going well, guard my heart from becoming independent. Do not let comfort cause me to drift away from You. Instead, let seasons of blessing become opportunities to worship You with even greater gratitude. Remind me that every good gift comes from Your hand and that every blessing is another reason to lift my eyes toward heaven in thanksgiving.

When I cannot clearly see what You are doing, give me the courage to draw even closer instead of pulling away. When prayers seem unanswered, let faith become stronger than my feelings. When the path ahead is hidden, remind me that I do not walk by sight but by faith. Teach me that Your silence is never Your absence and that Your delays are never without purpose. Help me trust the heart of my Father even when I cannot yet understand His plans.

Father, I surrender every part of my life to You. I surrender my work, my family, my responsibilities, my dreams, my worries, and every hidden burden I have carried. I no longer want to hold tightly to the things I cannot control. Instead, I place them into the hands of the One who holds the universe together by His power. You are far more capable of carrying my life than I am. Let my heart find peace in knowing that Your plans are always higher, Your wisdom is always greater, and Your love is always perfect.

Shape my character so that every task I complete becomes an offering of worship to You. Whether I am serving others, working quietly behind the scenes, encouraging a friend, or carrying out ordinary responsibilities, let me do it with excellence because I am ultimately serving You. May my attitude reflect Your kindness, my words reflect Your grace, and my actions reflect the love of Christ. Let my life become a testimony that points people toward the goodness of God.

Help me remember throughout this day that true success is not measured by achievements, recognition, or possessions, but by simple faithfulness. If I honor You today, then I have lived well. If I love others as You have loved me, then my day has eternal value. If I obey Your leading, even in the smallest moments, then my steps have been guided by heaven itself.

Lord, continue transforming my heart day by day. Remove anything that competes for first place in my life. If pride tries to rise within me, replace it with humility. If fear seeks to control me, fill me with confidence in Your promises. If worry begins to steal my peace, remind me that You are already holding tomorrow. Let nothing become more important to me than walking faithfully with You.

Thank You for Your patience as You continue shaping me into the person You created me to be. Thank You for never giving up on me, even when I have stumbled along the way. Your love has remained constant, Your grace has remained abundant, and Your faithfulness has never once failed. Because of who You are, I can rise today with confidence, knowing that You are leading every step I take.

So today, Father, I choose You above all else. I choose to seek Your kingdom before my own desires. I choose to trust Your wisdom above my own understanding. I choose to follow wherever You lead. May every decision, every conversation, every opportunity, and every quiet moment become another chance to glorify Your holy name. Let my life become a continual act of worship, bringing praise and honor to the One who alone is worthy.
